In the Real World - Alex Serra

Another new discovery for this “self”. A beautiful reminder of what is possible when we turn away from the outer world and return to the silence of our Hearts!

This story of a recent personal experience goes with this track. In conversation with my sister I mentioned how the “astral soup of the collective” was contaminating this psyche. She simply replied, “nature”.

A few days passed, and because of the onslaught of rain, “cabin fever” was setting in. Then we had this morning of semi-sunshine and I realised that I had to make the most of it.

My “bigger backyard” is home to the two last remaining trees that are now nearing the 600 year mark and yet, it has been soooo long since I visited either one. So, I decided to drive to the nearest one. As I was driving my head was “noisy”. I got to the carpark, (it is also a tourist hotspot). Fortunately, there were only two other cars there.

As soon as I stepped onto the boardwalk (protecting the tree) my mind went INSTANTLY SILENT. It was tangible, and yet, within the SILENCE of that mind I still heard this “little self” going WOW WOW WOW!

I now know where to go when I need to silence this mind and nothing else seems to be working.
